Mercedes wants to make sure that those who need to downsize their cars don’t have to miss their SUVs. That’s why future A-Class and B-Class will have multiple versions, including (according to AutoCar) a small soft-roader, provisionally called BLK. It is supposed to be launched in 2011 and set to compete with models like the forthcoming BMW X1 and Land Rover LRX.
The BLK will be based on the B-Class and will be offered as a four-wheel drive model. It should have a range of four-cylinder direct-injection gas and diesel engines, sized between 1.6 liters and 2.2 liters.
As it is our job to keep you up to date with the whole automotive world, not just what is sold to the U.S., Seat revealed the Tribu. These are the first official images and details on the first SUV that comes from the Spanish maker. Tribu is based on the Volkswagen Tiguan and you first saw it as a concept last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
because the Tribu is based on the Tiguan, we can also expect to see the same engines including the 1.4 and 2.0 TSI and 2.0 TDI. The Tribu should keep the base lines of the concept. It will be first launched as a 5-doors model, but a 3-door is also a possibility.
Set to compete with models like Honda CR-V, Renault Koleos, Opel Antara and Toyota RAV-4, Tribu will go on sale in the first half of 2010.
Dubbed Mercedes G50 Fine Edition, the new customized vehicle by Kicherer is based on the Mercedes G-Class and represents the latest creation from the German tuner specialized in Mercedes and Audi. The new vehicle comes with an improved engine boosted from 296 to 370 hp and 390 ft lbs of torque. Also available is a new body kit consisting in a new stainless steel front grille and a new stainless steel exhaust system.
The tuner added also a new set of 18 inch alloy wheels while at the interior the finest leather is available for the steering wheel, arm chair and the hand brake as well as for the sport buckets. Price of the tuning package starts from 23,205 euros or $34,356 while the price of the car is approximately 92,344 euros or $136,724 (although Mercedes does not officially import it to the U.S.)
Take a first look at the 2009 Mitsubishi Racing Lancer that were revealed by the manufacturer. Specially developed for the 2009 Dakar Rally which will take place in South America, the new Racing Lancer features a 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged diesel capable to develop 260 hp and 479-lb/ft of torque.
According to the manufacturer the vehicle will make its debut in the 2008 FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup in Portugal from October 30 to November 2 and will be driven by the nine times Dakar winner Stéphane Peterhansel.
In a changing automotive climate, Cadillac enters the 2009 with the a much-needed hybrid, which is also the first in the large luxury SUV class. 2009 also introduces a new ultra-luxury Platinum Edition with even more segment-first technologies.
The Escalade lineup features integrated powertrain, chassis, safety and interior systems that deliver the most powerful, efficient luxury SUVs in the segment, led by a 6.2L all-aluminum V-8 engine with variable valve timing technology delivering 403 hp and 417 lb.-ft. of torque. The 6.2L engine has been revised to run using renewable E85 ethanol, making it a flex-fuel vehicle for the first time.
The Platinum edition includes a blend of technical innovations and aesthetic enhancements. The exterior features a unique front fascia and grille patterned after the CTS sport sedan. The Platinum includes unique 22-inch wheels and wears exclusive Platinum exterior badges.

The Audi Q5 is not yet available in the U.S., and we can already show you the second tuner package for the car. After Digi-Tec, the Audi Q5 received another tuning program from another major German tuner, ABT. The new body kit consists in a new front grille in the ABT style, a completely re-designed front bumper with integrated fog lights, new stylish side sills, a new rear bumper with integrated exhaust system and rear air diffuser and a rear roof spoiler.
Under the hood, the 2.0 TDI engine received a power boost of 20 hp, developing now 190 hp, while the 3.0 TDI engine develops now 310 hp. The 2.0 TFSI engine was also boosted from 211 hp to 240 hp. More details when the official information will be released.
Hyundai revealed details on the 2009 Tucson SUV. It comes minor improvements such as better transmission management systems, torque converters, steering pump belt and engine management system.
For 2009, Tucson returns with additional exterior and interior changes including all-new 16-inch alloy wheels, 200-watt Kenwood Navigation/Audio System[1], a more distinctive chrome grille, new tailgate trim, more color choices and new GLS seat fabric.
The Tucson SE 4WD receives standard heated front seats and a windshield wiper de-icer. An optional B&M Racing Sport Shifter adds shorter throw-lengths and enhances precision to Tucson’s manual transmission. Tucson also has standard XM Satellite Radio™ and an auxiliary audio input.
The Tucson entry model is the GLS. It comes standard with a 2.0-liter inline four cylinder engine, five-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive.
Stepping up to the mid-range SE trim brings a 2.7-liter DOHC V6 engine, four-speed SHIFTRONIC automatic transmission, unique 16-inch alloy wheels with 235/60R16 tires, bodyside cladding, foglights and bodycolored door handles and mirrors.
Moving up to the luxurious Limited, Tucson customers will enjoy leather seating surfaces, heated front seats, power sunroof (V6 models), a six-disc in-dash CD changer and subwoofer.

Although Ford doesn’t currently sell the curvy SUV
Kuga in the U.S., its rumored that the car may be part of the European Ford invasion over the next few years. So we thought it would be cool to take a look at how some performance modifications from the German tuner Wolf can add some speed to the fast looks. The new package includes an ECU tweaking from 136 hp to 158 hp, at a mere price of 795 euros or $ 1,170. Also a new set of 20 inch alloy wheels were added at a price of 2,850 euros or $ 4,197 per set. More details after the jump.

If you really want to be exclusive among your neighbors and want to have an exclusive car, Edminston, known for its experience in building yachts, together with Land Rover launched its program for customizing Range Rover cars inspired by the luxury world of the yachts. Dubbed the “Superyacht Range Rover Design Competition”, the program will have seven top yacht like Bannenberg, Tim Heywood, Andrew Winch, Terrence Disdale, Ken Freivokh, Redman Whiteley Dixon and Martin Francis.
These designers compete in this program in order to obtain the chance to draw the lines of the exclusive Range Rover. Due to the fact that it will be unique, the prices for the car will be between $300,000 to $1.2 million and the delivery time will be between three and six months, depending on the customer’s choice.
For 2009, the pathfinder SUV comes with revised packaging and equipment availability, including the addition of standard 18-inch machined aluminum alloy wheels on Pathfinder LE V6 models (previously standard on LE V8 models only). Other changes include the addition of standard side and curtain supplemental air bags on all models and a new auto door lock function. Two new exterior colors are also available for 2009.
The 2009,Pathfinder is available with a choice of two engines – a powerful 5.6-liter DOHC 32-valve V8 engine producing 310 horsepower and 388 lb-ft of torque and a 266-horsepower 4.0-liter V6. The V8 engine is offered with the Pathfinder LE 4x4 configuration, while the V6 is offered in S, SE and LE 4x4 and 4x2 models. Backing both engines is a standard electronically controlled 5-speed automatic transmission.
Standard on all Pathfinder models is a responsive engine-speed-sensitive power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering system and 4-wheel disc brakes with 4-wheel, 4-channel, 4-sensor Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with G-sensor and Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD).
The 2009 Pathfinder will go on sale with prices ranging from $27,210 for the 4x2 S version and up to $40,210 for the 4x4 LE V-8 one.
