Because the Smart ForTwo is way too common (there are only about 14,000 on U.S. roads), the German manufacturer launched today a new limited edition of small cars. The new project includes a limited number of just 100 units and the tattoo legend Ed Hardy together with all kinds of custom components for the interior and the exterior of the car.
In fact, the manufacturer could call the project "Pimp my Smart”. The new program includes for the interior a seven-layered Ed Hardy tattoo inspired satin paint scheme, premium leather seats with Ed Hardy tattoo embroidered suede inserts, premium leather and suede upholstered lower dash, red contrasting stitching throughout the interior, interior accents finished in piano black glass, a Kenwood premium audio system with a JL Audio 8” subwoofer.
The outside gets custom satin black multi spoke wheels with Ed Hardy ”Tiger” center cap, a chrome dual tip exhaust system by Doug Thorley Headers providing an increase of 6 hp and 14 ft lbs. torque. Also, each car includes a plate with the number of the car from 1-100 which is personally signed by Christian Audigier.

Here’s another hatch that Europe gets to tease the U.S. with. Renault has not been bringing cars to the United States for almost 20 years now. In that time they’ve put out some cars we may wish we’d had, including this new Renault Sport Twingo. The new car is based on the everyday Twingo, but it is given a 1.6-liter engine that puts out 133 horsepower. That kind of power in a tiny car combined with a sport chassis can make for a cool little car. If the car were sold here, the current exchange rate would put the price at around $23,000.
Enjoy some video of performance driver training given by Renault. The French company offers a training school for new owners for the reasonable price of €1.
Press release after the jump.

Who cares about gas prices when you’ve got flames on your truck? For the 2009 Ford’s Super Duty line-up will receive two new special editions: the Cabela’s FX4 and Harley-Davidson F-450 pickups.
The Cabela FX4 is being offered in a two-tone paint scheme available in one of five colors — Ebony, Oxford White, Forest Green Metallic, Royal Red Metallic or Silver Metallic — contrasted with Sterling Grey Metallic.
The Harley-Davidson Edition F-450 will feature on the exterior blue flames that run the length of the truck, plus unique blue and chromed plastic engine vents just behind the front wheels. The fenders and tailgate will wear Harley-Davidson badges, and "Harley-Davidson" will be spelled out on the sides of the cargo box. The blue-flame effect will also be carried over on the interior to the black leather seats, door panels and center console.

For those who think the Ferrari FXX Evoluzione is not exclusive enough, try a one-of-a-kind Lamborghini. Meet the 1996 Lamborghini Zagato Raptor. Based on the Diablo VT, this was a styling exercise by Italian coachbuilder Zagato to look at the feasibility for production. This is the only one that ever materialized, possibly due to the fact that occupants needed to enter the car through the single-piece canopy top. It also features a all-wheel drive and a race inspired box section chassis.
If you’re still interested in this 492-hp V-12 supercar, get out your checkbook and head to Pebble Beach. The Raptor is scheduled to be part of the Blackhawk Collection’s items at the concourse’s auction that begins today.
It is the ultra exclusive version of the ultra exclusive supercar based on another ultra exclusive supercar. There are only 3 Ferrari FXX Evoluzione in the world and two of them are going to Hong Kong (the third stayed in Europe.) There are only 30 total Ferrari FXXs in the world, all based from the Enzo of which only 400 were made. The FXX is a more track-minded version of the Enzo, and the Evoluzione version is an even more track friendly version of the FXX. Power for the three cars comes from a 6.2 liter V-12 rated at 860 horsepower.
In special projects like this Ferrari doesn’t go looking for customers. Instead it takes applications and chooses the lucky few from their exclusive client list. But exclusivity has its price. The FXX Evoluzione is reported to cost about $2.8 million.

Believe it or not this batmobile replica, called the ’Tumbler’, was built by one man, Bob Dullam, in his garage. The Tumbler is fully functional and was built using only photographs and DVD still shots as references. Dullam, who makes specialty costumes, props, and statues for a living, reports that he spent between $50,000 and $70,000 on the project. That’s not the final cost though, since the interior is up next on the ’to-do list’.
Dullam also dressed for the event, making himself a replica of the bat-suit. And if that isn’t enough he has even announced plans to make the Batpod, the motorcycle from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

The SLR 722 is about to loose its head, with the launch of the roadster version in early 2009. U.S. prices have not been announced, but European sales should be around £400,000.
Under the hood there will be the same engine as in the coupe 722: a 5.4-litre, V8 AMG, supercharged engine that delivers about 650 hp and over 580 ft lbs of torque. The 0 to 60 mph sprint will be made in under 3.0 seconds. The special edition roadster gets its name from the famous Stirling Moss victory in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR which raced under the number 722.
Two weeks ago we were telling you about the launch of the one of a kind Mustang AV8R named after the famous P-51 Mustang fighter, which played a key role in World War II as a bomber escort. Today we found out that the vehicle was sold for $500,000 at the Gathering of Eagles charity auction.
The money will be used to support the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture Oshkosh youth education and inspirational experience program. For those who don’t know, the car is based on the 2009 Mustang GT has a 4.6-liter, 24-valve V-8 engine capable to develop 400 horsepower and features autographs from aviation legends and notable enthusiasts like Edsel B. Ford II, Chuck Yeager, Jack Roush, Harrison Ford, John Travolta, Morgan Freeman and Jim Lovell. More details here!
